NIKON’S NEW COOLPIX S520 BLENDS SLIM DESIGN WITH LATEST TECHNOLOGY

MELVILLE, NY —

Nikon is pleased to announce a new addition to its Style Series line of digital cameras: the COOLPIX S520. This slim, ergonomic camera boasts a streamlined profile, 8 effective megapixels, a 3x Zoom-NIKKOR lens, Optical Vibration Reduction (VR) Image Stabilization, and a quality-crafted aluminum body. Style-conscious consumers will love the S520 design, in addition to the latest Nikon technologies that make this camera compact, easy to use, and capable of capturing breath-taking images.

"Nikon is dedicated to the development of stylish cameras with superior performance, easy operation and an intuitive interface," said Bill Giordano, General Manager, Marketing, COOLPIX for Nikon Inc. "The COOLPIX S520 is a solid contribution to the COOLPIX Style Series line, and we hope that its slim and stunning design, color options, unique technology, and powerful capabilities continue to appeal to the street-savvy trendsetters at which the Style Series is aimed."

Incorporating Nikon's new, innovative EXPEEDTM digital imaging processing system for enhanced noise reduction and improved the signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio, the S520 captures sharp photographs while maintaining image quality and ISO sensitivity up to ISO 2000. Utilizing EXPEED's power, the S520 also offers new scene modes that help users select the perfect settings for a variety of shooting situations. Making its way into the new line-up of scene modes, Food Mode allows for users to capture beautiful close-up images of food at high ISO settings in restaurants or other locations where flash photography is not permitted.

What's more, the S520 makes finding camera modes and images easier, thanks to a new feature that enables users to select three of their favorite 16 available scene modes to appear in the Mode menu for quicker access. Favorite images can now be saved to individual albums as well with the S520's incorporated in-camera image organization system. Additionally, new viewing options include Face Zoom-in, which allows users to quickly zoom in and switch between faces during playback on the large 2.5-inch LCD screen.

The S520 continues Nikon's tradition of including its unique image innovations in its COOLPIX cameras. The S520 features improved Face-priority AF*, which automatically finds and focuses on up to five face's within the frame; In-Camera Red-Eye Fix, which can automatically detect and correct red eye in a photo; and D-Lighting, which compensates for excessive backlight or insufficient flash in images.

The COOLPIX S520 will be available nationwide in March 2008 and in an array of colors - including plum and graphite black - at an MSRP of $229.95**. For more information about the S520 and other COOLPIX cameras, please visit www.nikonusa.com.

*Face-recognition capability may be limited in some shooting conditions.
