NIKON'S NEW COOLPIX P60 DIGITAL CAMERA BLENDS FUNCTIONAL STYLING AND ADVANCED FEATURES FOR SOLID PERFORMANCE

MELVILLE, NY —

Nikon is pleased to introduce a new addition to its COOLPIX Performance Series line of digital cameras: the COOLPIX P60. Developed for the consumer looking for a compact digital camera with creative control, the 8.1 effective megapixel P60 delivers both Program and Manual controls, increased resolution and a 5x Zoom-NIKKOR glass lens with Vibration Reduction (VR) Image Stabilization for stunningly sharp images. The P60 also offers an electronic viewfinder that assists the composition of photos from close-ups to to vast landscapes.

"Great for the camera enthusiast, the COOLPIX P60 offers structure and substance," says Bill Giordano, General Manager, Marketing, COOLPIX for Nikon Inc. "The P60 blends a familiar and classic Nikon design with new features and technology."

The COOLPIX P60 comes with a functional body design and a defined hand grip for secure finger placement and easy operation. The camera's mode dial includes two exposure modes - Programmed Auto and Manual - to offer consumers creative control over the pictures they take. Programmed Auto [P] mode automatically selects optimal shutter and aperture settings, while Manual [M] mode provides full control over both. Additionally, the P60 is equipped with 15 scene-optimized modes for making portraits, sports, landscapes, beach and snow shots a snap to shoot, as well as four different movie modes to expand users' photography experience.

To ensure sharp and steady images when utilizing the camera's 5x zoom, the P60 boasts sophisticated VR Optical Image Stabilization technology, which helps overcome the effects of camera shake. The P60 also sports an extended light sensitivity range up to ISO 2000, which helps capture stunning pictures in low light settings. The COOLPIX P60 utilizes Nikon's EXPEEDTM image processing system for enhanced noise reduction and improved signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio, preserving image quality even when shooting at higher ISO settings.

The P60 continues Nikon's tradition of including its unique image innovations in its COOLPIX cameras. The P60 features improved Face-priority AF*, which automatically finds and focuses on up to five faces within the frame; In-Camera Red-Eye Fix, which can automatically detect and correct red eye in a photo; and D-Lighting, which compensates for excessive backlight or insufficient flash in images.

The camera is powered by two AA-size batteries, adding to its convenient portability. The P60 features PictBridge support and will be compatible with SD/SDHC cards. The P60 will also include Nikon's new COOLPIX Software Suite, to make transferring and editing photos a snap.

The Nikon COOLPIX P60 will be available nationwide beginning March 2008 at a MSRP of $229.95**. For more information about these and other COOLPIX cameras, please visit www.nikonusa.com.
