NIKON CELEBRATES PHOTOGRAPHY’S PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE AT PHOTOPLUS EXPO 2008

MELVILLE, N.Y. —

Nikon Inc. will exhibit at the 2008 PhotoPlus Expo to spotlight its entire line of industry-leading imaging solutions and accessories, and offer attendees the rare opportunity to interact with some of photographic history's greatest icons. Attendees may visit Nikon at Booth 501 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City from Thursday, Oct. 23 through Saturday, Oct. 25 to experience the newest imaging products and help Nikon celebrate the 75th Anniversary of world-class NIKKOR optics. Additionally, show-goers can listen to the inspiring words of famous photographers, including a special session with legendary photojournalist Bill Eppridge.

Nikon's latest digital SLR success, the D90, will be a leading attraction at the Nikon booth with a complete hands-on demonstration area open to the public. Nikon invites attendees to explore the game-changing camera that delivers the pinnacle of image quality and ease-of-use, combined with the ability to create HD movie clips. Nikon will also show its full line of COOLPIX compact digital cameras, including such popular models as the speedy, Wi-Fi enabled S610c, the P6000 with built-in GPS, and the P80 ultra-zoom camera. Nikon will highlight the complete digital imaging system of products and accessories, demonstrating the total solution made available to Nikon photographers and imaging professionals. The Nikon booth will also feature the entire line of the D series D-SLRs, NIKKOR lenses and Coolscan desktop digital film scanners.

Nikon is also proud to present "Over 50 Years of Photojournalism" with legendary photographer Bill Eppridge. Pulitzer Prize winning AP and CNN correspondent Peter Arnett will host as Eppridge discusses his storied career spanning more than five decades. Eppridge has been a staple of American political history with his iconic collection, including images ranging from the civil rights movement, the American debut of the Beatles, to the powerful image of a dying Robert F. Kennedy cradled in the arms of a busboy. Now, he has the chance to inspire a new generation of photographers through images that are a testament to the importance of photojournalism in documenting history. This event will take place Friday, Oct. 24, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the PDN Theater in the Javits Convention Center. Attendance is limited to 300 people on a first come, first serve basis.

"PhotoPlus remains a great opportunity for Nikon to show attendees the reasons we remain an industry leader with our cutting-edge core technologies, imaging heritage and emphasis on delivering the best possible image quality to the consumer," said Edward Fasano, general manager for marketing, SLR Systems Products at Nikon Inc. "We are also thrilled to have the opportunity to help share the wisdom of so many industry greats, which remind us why we love photography."

The new, larger Nikon Booth will host a full schedule of highly regarded professional photographers demonstrating their legendary work through interactive lectures and energetic photo shoots where users can learn from some of the best in the business. These photographers will demonstrate Nikon imaging products including the Nikon D3, D300 and D700 cameras. Patrons will also be able to come and learn about Capture NX2 and RAW image workflow in a special section of the booth dedicated to this powerful image editing software program.

Interact with Nikon
Attendees will have the opportunity to interact directly with Nikon by visiting the "Why Nikon?" skybox where users can share stories about their Nikon experiences. Nikon fans will have the opportunity to appear on Nikon's website talking about what inspires them to use Nikon, why they began using Nikon or why they love Nikon cameras, from capturing memories with a COOLPIX to their first SLR camera. Attendees will also be able to celebrate the 75th anniversary of NIKKOR optics by participating in the "Picture Your World Through a NIKKOR Lens" contest. Nikon will award a product featuring NIKKOR lens technology every day from now until the end of the year. Eligible products include brilliantly designed NIKKOR lenses, award-winning digital SLR camera and NIKKOR lens kits, or one of many stylish, easy-to-use COOLPIX compact digital cameras featuring NIKKOR lens technology.
