Lens Choice for Great Portraits
A tip from Nikon Ambassador Dixie Dixon
Lens choice has such an impact when shooting beauty photography. For a model’s headshot, I’ll use at least an 85mm or even the 70-200mm lens, to bring out the best look in my models. Here’s a great rule of thumb: zoom in to 200mm, physically back up, and then take your shot, and the bokeh will be beautiful—allowing your subject to really stand out.
