Image Overlay

Accessed through the Retouch Menu on select Nikon D-SLRs, Image Overlay is after-the-fact multiple exposure. Choose any two or more NEF images (Nikon's version of the RAW file) while reviewing your shots; select them and bring them together to create a new image. The process allows you to change the exposure values for either or both of the original photographs to assure that the new, composite image isn't too dark. The original images chosen for the overlay aren't affected by the process, and the result can be saved as a new NEF.
