Using the File Naming Feature in a Nikon DSLR Camera
In many Nikon DSLRs, you can change the file name from DSC to a three-character name of your choosing. Its helpful when more than one photographer is shooting an event and all images will be downloaded onto the same computer. This way, you can tell each photographer’s images apart simply by looking at the file name.
The File Naming setting can be found in the Shooting Menu. Select File Naming and then enter the new file name.
