Alex Gorosh

Alex Gorosh is an award-winning documentary and commercial director. He makes films not to escape reality, but to grasp it. He’s managed to make viral films out of not-so-approachable subjects such as electronic waste, the cashmere industry, and the size of the solar system.

Alex is the co-creator and director of To Scale, which is currently in development as a documentary series in partnership with BBC Studios. He was the Co-EP and cinematographer for Roadfood: Discovering America One Dish at a Time, which was nominated for an Emmy Award. His project Xbox – A Player Like Me won multiple Clio Awards: a Silver, two Golds and a Grand Clio. Alex has traveled all over the world making content for KIND Snacks, Verizon, Hershey’s, Xbox, Ford, Intel, Gap Inc., PBS, The New Yorker, Starbucks, FedEx, Chevrolet among many others.

But his first gig out of college, making videos for Outward Bound, is still the one that best defines him. Over the last two decades, he has filmed students going through transformational journeys while mountaineering, canoeing, white water rafting, dogsledding and more. Through his work with Outward Bound, Alex learned how to be a compassionate leader, how to communicate effectively, and how to portage a canoe while filming a beautiful sunset. That canoe part is not true. And if you believed it, you have no idea how hard it is to portage a canoe.

I make documentaries because life is inspiring, beautiful and entertaining as hell if you know how to frame it.
