Nikon was the first camera manufacturer to introduce Wi-Fi (wireless networking) in a compact camera. In select COOLPIX cameras, Wi-Fi technology allows photographers to transfer images from the camera's memory or memory card directly to the Internet.

COOLPIX Wi-Fi capability also permits the wireless transfer of images to a wireless network-capable printer or computer.
